Many customers choose to use Madeira’s cotton thread to achieve better embroidery quality. If you want to achieve a higher quality of embroidery works, then we recommend you to use this kind of cotton thread for the bottom thread.
Generally the diameter of the bottom thread should be 2/3 of the upper thread, this is the most standard bobbin thread choice. For this 3 kinds of threads: 120D-2, 120D-3 and 75D-2, the most difference is that their diameter is not the same. For example, these two: 75D-2 and 120D-2, Compared with 75D, the diameter of 120D will be thicker. Another example: 120D-2 and 120D-3. Compared with these two kinds of thread, -2 means two threads putting together, and -3 means three threads putting together, the 120D-3 is stronger than the 120D-2. For all the cotton thread, We generally should choose this type: 40-2S. Choose different bobbins according to different upper threads.
Generally we should choose different bobbins according to different upper threads. Today we give some of our suggestions. Because many customers choose to use disposable bobbins, we strongly recommend that you must choose this type of bobbin: 70 D/2-H bobbin with a plastic core and a plastic shell on both sides of the thread, which is fully wrapped. I also see that many customers choose to use magnetic bobbins, lots of people may be accustomed to using this bobbin. But when you embroider on a children’s T-shirt or a softer T-shirt for men or women, we still recommend you to choose this commonly used bobbin: L aluminum bobbin. Because in this way, you can choose a better bottom thread, so that the quality of the embroidery will be more stable and precise.
OK,now let’s go back to share why after you use these disposable bobbins, it would cause problem of thread breakage or thread trimming. There are two reasons, the most important one is the position of the thread picker. Generally, the embroidery machine is adjusted according to the standard aluminum bobbin when it leaves the factory. The default adjusted position of the thread picker is very close to the bobbin. When you use a disposable bobbin, the position of the thread picker need to be adjusted, you need to move the position of the picker a little bit out.
Look at this picture, this is a bobbin we used.
